Winter sports enthusiasts who prefer to explore the beautiful nature on cross-country skis will find wonderful cross-country trails in Ebensee and the surrounding area. The Langbathsee cross-country trail starts directly in Ebensee and leads around the picturesque Langbathsee lake. For cross-country skiers who don't want to tackle the entire 14 kilometres, there is a second entry point at Langbathsee. This shortens the loop and offers a circular trail of approx. 8 km.
In the neighbouring village of Traunkirchen, approx. 5 km from Ebensee, there is another circular trail, which is ideal for beginners due to its manageable length of 5 km. Just under 15 km from Ebensee in Neukirchen bei Altmünster is the two-part Polar cross-country trail, which is groomed for both skating-style and classic-style skiing. The parallel cross-country trails are two and three kilometres long respectively.
