Ski area Jöchelspitze

The Jöchelspitze ski area in the Lech Valley, just 16 km from Elmen, offers two picturesque pistes that are perfect for families and beginners. The 8-seater gondola lift takes you from the valley station to an altitude of 1,768 metres, where two wide and well-groomed slopes begin. These lead through wooded areas in the lower section and end directly at the cable car. While the Jöchelspitze with its red piste is more of a challenge for advanced skiers, the blue Jöchelspitze family run offers relaxed skiing fun for the whole family. At the Sonnalm, hungry skiers can enjoy local specialities while admiring the impressive panoramic view of the Lechtal Alps from the terrace.

There are also 1.7 kilometres of pistes right on the outskirts of Elmen, which are served by three lifts and will delight both skiers and snowboarders. Those who want to try skiing for the first time will find ideal conditions 19 kilometres away on the Gföllberg. There you can choose between the red Gföllberg piste (1 km) and the blue family piste (1.5 km) at the drag lift. The local ski school also offers courses for all ability levels to learn or improve your technique in the Jöchelspitze ski area.

If the 5 kilometres of pistes in Bach are not enough for you, the "3 Valleys Pass" gives you access to a further 360 kilometres of pistes in 30 ski areas such as Balderschwang, Damüls-Mellau or Reuthe in the Bregenzerwald as well as in the Großes Walsertal. These ski resorts in the German-Austrian border region offer manageable and family-friendly pistes, but experienced skiers will also get their money's worth.

Night skiing Jöchelspitze

Small but nice - that's an apt description of the Stoamandllift in Stanzach. On the outskirts of Elmen, night skiers get their money's worth, as a special skiing experience awaits them here. In winter, the T-bar lift of the Stanzach family ski lifts operates daily from 19:00 to 21:00. During this time, the 600 metre-long downhill run is floodlit. If there is no snow, a modern snowmaking system ensures that the piste is still perfectly groomed.

Après ski Jöchelspitze

Elmen offers the ideal ambience for a relaxed après-ski experience close to nature. In contrast to the hectic party areas, you will find peace and cosiness here. After an eventful day of skiing, the rustic huts and Alpine pastures around Bach and the Jöchelspitze ski area invite you to round off the day with regional specialities, hot drinks and Alpine hospitality. Those who prefer a more lively atmosphere can enjoy the traditional après-ski feeling in the Lechtaler Hexenkessel umbrella bar at the valley station with atmospheric music and refreshing drinks.

For those who prefer to spend the evening in the great outdoors, the Lechtal offers numerous winter hiking trails. The suspension bridge in Holzgau and the surrounding waterfalls are particularly impressive and look especially spectacular in the snow-covered winter landscape. Other leisure activities for families and groups include tobogganing on the 5.8 km long Bernhardseck toboggan run in Elbigenalp, ice skating in the Holzgau ice paradise or curling in Elmen. Romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides through the wintry Lech Valley offer a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the idyllic snowy landscape in cosy togetherness.

Snowpark Jöchelspitze: Burton Snowpark Damüls

Although the Jöchelspitze ski area does not offer winter sports guests from Elmen its own snow park, freestyle fans don't have to miss out on the fun. A recommended alternative is located in the Damüls-Mellau ski area, around 53 kilometres away. The "Burton Snowpark Damüls" is available here, which can be reached via the "3 Täler Pass". An experienced crew looks after the entire area, which impresses with its varied obstacles and sunny location. Whether rails, boxes, kickers or quarterpipes - there are plenty of opportunities to show off your tricks in the snowpark. Visitors can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and listen to music in the chill-out area. The main park is complemented by the "Small Park" at the Uga mountain station, where a 3-person kicker line, a 3-person jib tube line and other elements such as banks and waves are waiting to be ridden on skis or snowboards.
