In the midst of the Silvretta mountain range lies the climatic health resort of Galtür at 1,584 m above sea level. The family-friendly village forms the head of the Paznaun valley and is therefore in a quiet location. The Silvretta High Alpine Road, which connects Paznaun with Montafon in summer and which starts in Galtür, is closed in winter. Despite its small size, the snowy village offers everything a winter sports enthusiast could wish for. Families in particular appreciate Galtür for its numerous offers for children, but also for the varied sports opportunities. In the evenings, many different gastronomic establishments from the rustic alpine hut to the superior hotel attract guests to the Paznaun region. Epicures should especially try the Paznaun alpine cheese.

Paznaun Valley

The Paznaun Valley is surrounded by the densely wooded mountain slopes of the Silvretta mountain range. The family-friendly Silvapark ski resort, with its guaranteed snow, offers skiers, snowboarders and cross-country skiers the best conditions. The slopes and trails of the highest ski resort in the Paznaun Valley are known far beyond the borders of Austria. The 43 kilometres of pistes and 6 kilometres of ski routes with 9 lifts without long waiting times are particularly suitable for families. But alpine skiers, freeskiers, snowboarders and ski tourers also get their money's worth here.

One of the most modern ski resorts is the Silvretta Arena with its 239 kilometres of slopes. 45 lifts transport you comfortably and without long waiting times to the sometimes challenging slopes at a maximum altitude of 2,872 metres. Even in the evenings, the leisure programme leaves nothing to be desired. The combination of varied winter sports holidays and après-ski is what makes the Paznaun Valley so unique.
