Cross-country Hochfilzen

Information on cross-country skiing

110 km Cross-country trails (in km):

The Pillerseetal is no longer an insider tip for cross-country skiing fans! World champion cross-country trails await you in this cross-country skiing stronghold. Hochfilzen hosts the Biathlon World Cup every year, and in 2017 it even hosted the Biathlon World Championships. Several beautiful circuits lead right through the Pillerseetal valley and around the lake of the same name. A total of 110 kilometres of cross-country trails are groomed for you here! In addition to the classic-style cross-country trails, all villages also have specially groomed skating-style trails and there are cross-country instructors and service stations at your disposal.

There is a racing skate trail near Waidring, which has a high level of difficulty and is only intended for skaters. The Dandlerloipe is one of the longest in the region and leads over a sporty 10 km from Fieberbrunn to Hochfilzen. In total, Ortisei has 28 km of cross-country trails ranging from easy to medium difficulty. The highlight for every cross-country skier is certainly the weekly guest biathlon, which takes place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday on the village trail in Hochfilzen (between December and Easter).

The cross-country skiing trail network in Pillerseetal has been awarded the cross-country ski trail seal of approval.
