Information on cross-country skiing
10 km Cross-country trails (in km):
About 65 km of cross-country tracks run through the Wilder Kaiser, and due to their variety they suit every degree of difficulty. The widely spread network, of which boasts the Tyrolean cross-country seal of excellence, leads through sun-drenched valleys and offers access to the trails in St. Johann and Kitzbühel.
Itter itself offers approx. 10 km of track. Directly from the resort you have access to the popular trail on the sun plateau of easy to intermediate level.
In neighbouring Hopfgarten there are further 10 km of trails which are ideal for beginners to try. It is also recommendable to try the 2.8 km long high altitude track at Hochbrixen with magnificent panoramic view.
In Westendorf there is also the Auner track, the longest in the region with 10 km. The neighbouring resorts Ellmau and Going also offer fantastic trails in wonderful surroundings to enjoy the lovely scenery.
