The Achensee region boasts one of the largest and best maintained cross-country networks in Austria and has been distinguished with four stars by the ADAC regarding cross-country skiing! A total of 200 km of trail covering all levels of difficulty and style are available, and beginners can take lessons in all resorts.
Maurach also offers 31 km of cross-country trails, 12 km of which can also be used as skating trails. Maurach is also home to many very recommended cross-country trails! An absolute highlight for cross-country fans is the trail from Pertisau to Falzthurn Valley, which runs over 14 km long, directly under the Karwendel cliff wall into a sunny valley. Pure cross-country fun can be had on the Guffert trail, which is 12 km long.
Several dog trails are also available in Pertisau, which however require a fee.
