Ski area Wildkogel Arena
The ski area has 20 modern and comfortable lifts - from tow lifts to the newly built 10-seater "Ganzer X-press" gondola lift. The Smaragdbahn cable car runs up from Bramberg and the Wildkogelbahn cable car from Neukirchen. Once at the top, the magnificent panorama of the Hohe Tauern National Park awaits you from the viewing terraces with views of the many three-thousand metre peaks and the "highest mountain in Salzburg", the Großvenediger (3,666 m). The ski area has 85 per cent blue or red pistes and is particularly suitable for families with children and leisure skiers with this predominantly easy to intermediate level. The wonderfully wide descents offer plenty of space for carving and boarding.
Child-friendly beginners' areas await youngsters both at the ski meadow at the Preimis lift in Neukirchen and at the Wennsergletscher family ski lift in Bramberg. The little ones are lovingly looked after in the "Kogel-Mogel" Kinderland. Freestylers will get their money's worth in the newly created, easy fun park at the "Wolkenstein" tow lift.
The descents to the valley to Neukirchen and Bramberg can both be completely covered in artificial snow. At 14 km, the piste down to Bramberg is the longest in the ski area and not only that - it is also home to the longest floodlit toboggan run in the world.
The Wildkogel Arena ski area is also considered a particularly environmentally friendly ski operation: at an altitude of 2,100 m, it is home to one of the highest solar power plants in Europe - a photovoltaic system that covers 75 per cent of the Wildkogel lifts' entire electricity requirements. The Wildkogel Arena is also a member of the "Alpine Pearls", which are committed to environmentally friendly holidays.
The upgrade to the "Zillertal Arena" (see ski region) offers even more variety and fun on the slopes. On the 150 kilometres of piste and 49 lift systems, skiers and snowboarders will find a wide range of options for every skiing level. Almost 100 per cent reliability of snow and skiing up to 2,500 m guarantee the perfect skiing holiday for the whole family.
Après ski Neukirchen am Großvenediger
A very special highlight is tobogganing fun on the longest floodlit toboggan run in the world! From Bramberg, take the Smaragdbahn cable car to an altitude of almost 2,100 metres, where the start of the run is located. From Neukirchen, you can take the Wildkogelbahn lift to the ski area and reach the start of the run in 10 minutes on foot. From here, you can whizz down a full 14 kilometres to Bramberg. That means a difference in altitude of 1,300 metres!
For après ski fun, head to one of the numerous umbrella bars and pubs in the village, some of which invite you to the dance floor until late in the evening.
Snowpark : Snow park Neukirchen am Großvenediger
In the Wildkogel Arena there is a small but excellent fun park, which is particularly suitable for beginners with its easy lines. Here you can let off steam on various boxes and kickers. The park is located at the "Wolkenstein" tow lift.
