Ski holidays Obsteig – Ski touring paradise at the Grünberg!

Obsteig

Obsteig is located on a sunny high plateau above the Inn Valley. As the westernmost municipality of the Mieminger Plateau, this charming Alpine village is picturesquely nestled in the Tyrolean mountains, surrounded by the protected natural area of the Lärchenwiesen. The village consists of several districts and hamlets, home to around 1,300 people.

The region around Obsteig offers the best conditions for a varied family holiday. The Kinderland am Grünberg children's playground, a wide range of play facilities and snow-covered winter hiking trails through the larch meadows and over the Holzleitensattel pass ensure eventful days. A special highlight is the imposing Klamm Castle, which towers on a hill near the town centre. The restored hilltop castle became famous through the television series "Der Bergdoktor" (The Mountain Doctor), in which it appears as "Schloss Sonnenstein" (Sonnenstein Castle).

Ski tourers will also find ideal conditions in Obsteig. The sunny plateau is considered a model region for gentle winter tourism and impresses with safe ascent routes and wonderful deep-snow descents.
