Cross-country Pongau

The Pongau region surrounding the resort St. Johann im Pongau is like paradise for cross-country skiers. In Salzburger Sportwelt you can look forward to approx. 260 km of trails prepared for classic and skating style. The famous Tauern marathon takes place on a beautiful 60 km route through the Ski amadé ski region.

The trail can also be entered near smaller resorts such as Embach and Hüttau. In Embach there is one of the most beautiful cross-country ski trails in all of Salzburger Land, the high altitude trail with a length of approx. 8 km. Nordic skiers spending their holiday in Werfenweng can look forward to 33 km of perpectly prepared trails leading through Weng valley. 12 km of these are designed for the sporty skating style. The high quality of trails has its price: there is a fee for using the trails.
