The snowy region of Vorarlberg is a paradise for cross-country skiers, with a network of trails covering around 100 km. Over 20 km of these are designed for skating, around 20 km are illuminated for evening skiing, and over 30 km are high-altitude trails with fantastic views, ideal for fitness training.
From Kristberg via Silvretta Montafon and Gargellen to Golm, Montafon not only offers many great ski areas, but also beautiful valley floors and wide alpine pastures for extended cross-country skiing tours. The trails lead you through the valleys, along streams, around Lake Silvretta and even to St. Anton am Arlberg. The high-altitude trail on the Bielerhöhe at over 2,000 m is the highest trail in the entire Montafon. Again and again, you will be rewarded with fantastic panoramic views of the peaks of Piz Buin (3,312 m) and Co.
