The Pillerseetal is no longer an insider's tip for fans of cross-country skiing! World Cup runs wait for you in the cross-country centre. The nearby resort Hochfilz is an annual station of the biathlon World Cup and was host to the biathlon world championship in 2017. There are several beautiful round courses leading through the Pillerseetal and Lake Piller. All in all, you can look forward to 110 km of tracks! All resorts have trails that are prepared for the classic style as well as for skating, and cross-country teachers and services stations can be found. For the usage of the cross country tracks a fee needs to be payed locally.

Nearby Waidring you can find a racing skate run with a high level of difficulty which is only suitable for skaters. The "Dandler" trail is 10 sporty kilometres long - the longest in the region - and leads from Fieberbrunn to Hochfilzen. Waidring has a total of approx. 22 km trails ranging from easy to intermediate levels of difficulty. The weekly guest biathlon, which takes place on the village track in Hochfilzen on Tuesdays and Thursdays, surely is a highlight for every cross-country skier.
