Cross-country Portes du Soleil

Information on cross-country skiing

150 km Cross-country trails (in km):

Portes du Soleil offers ideal conditions not only for alpine winter sports, but also for lovers of Nordic cross-country skiing. 150 kilometres of trails of varying degrees of difficulty and levels of difficulty are waiting to be explored. The trails, most of which are located above 1,000 metres, have a moderate pre-Alpine character and thus offer perfect conditions for leisurely cross-country skiing.

Most of the trails are on the French side and run through scenic surroundings of forests, rivers and lakes. Most of the trails are free to use, with only the lift to reach the higher trails subject to a charge.

Experienced cross-country skiers are definitely recommended to try the 12-kilometre-long "Croix des Combes", one of the longest and most challenging trails in the ski region. Beginners can try their hand around the villages of Châtel or Abondance along the Swiss border. But Nordic athletes will also find plenty to enjoy around the villages of Avoriaz, Morzine and Morgins. Whether skating or classic technique, beginner or advanced, there is something for everyone in the Portes du Soleil cross-country ski network.
