Ski holidays Vaujany - perfect combination of fun on the piste and French cosiness!
Vaujany (Alpe d'Huez)
Hardly any other resort in the Alps combines tradition and modernity so well as Vaujany does. Located on the mountain side, the family-friendly village provides traditional alpine charm with its crooked alleys and streets. In the past the locals used to depend on the regional farming products, however since the last war this has changed drastically. Vaujany now belongs to one of the wealthiest districts in France thanks to a large dam lake in the valley which operates a hydroelectric power plant.By installing one of the most modern gondolas in France, Vaujany is now perfectly connected to the renowned ski area of Alpe d'Huez and therefore has become very popular with winter sports enthusiasts. If you are also looking for entertainment aside the piste then you will surely be happy with the spa pool complex or on the newly opened ice rink (58 x 28 m) with large visitor's stand and the new bowling alley. Vaujany offers its guests a free parking garage. To save tired legs the ascent to the accommodation there are escalators which operate between the various levels of the village. Numerous restaurants, pizzerias and some bars round off the village's tourist offers.
Oisans
The region Oisans is located in the French high alpine country and offers the majestic peak Barre des Écrins (4,102 m), the most southern of the Alpine 4,000-er mountains. Further to the South, the Mediterranean Alps join into the massif and become gradually lower towards Cote d'Azur. The region includes the popular massifs of Belldonne, Écrins and Grandes Rousses. Cycling enthusiasts will know the region due to the Tour de France, as here are some of the most challenging legs, e.g. like the route to Alpe d'Huez. But also in winter the region Oisans is highly popular with holiday-makers. Powder snow and sunshine attract many visitors to this region during the winter months, as you will also find many renowned winter sports resorts here.Travel Vaujany (Alpe d'Huez)
