Cross-country Vogtland
Ideal winter sports conditions are to be found in the area around Skiwelt Schöneck in Vogtland, with a total of 36 km of prepared cross-country trails. Fans of Nordic skiing can enter the trail netwotk at IFA Ferienpark and enjoy the really good quality of tracks. Clear air and the snowy nature are a wonderful backdrop for Nordic skiing fun.
Surrounding the resorts Schöneck, Klingenthal and Marktneukirchen, there are extensive woodlands for cross-country skiing. Schöneck is also the starting point for the well-known trail Kammloipe, which leads through the Ore Mountains / Vogtland nature park to Johanngeorgenstadt in the Ore Mountains. As the the trails over a mountain ridge, it has a high reliability for snow, and is also one of the longest trails in Germany. The German Ski Association (DSV) rated the trail "excellent". It is also characterised by trail houses, shelters, service points and many parking spaces at the entrance points.
