40 km Cross-country trails (in km):

All in all 40 km of cross-country ski trails are available in Wernigerode - most of which lead through the suburbanised village of Schierke. On an altitude of 600 - 1,000 m, you can enjoy unique impressions of the winter landscape surrounding the Brocken. The tracksrange from the challenging 12 km "Große Winterbergloipe" trail, a 5 km sports trail on which you can ride under championship conditions, to the "Stadtwald" trail in the resort centre.

If that's not enough, Braunlage offers further 80 km cross-country ski trails.
