Ski area Willingen
With the "Wintersport Arena Card" (purchase possible on site), you have access to around 66 varied kilometres of piste. These include the Postwiese Neuastenberg, the Willingen ski area, the Altastenberg and Winterberg ski carousels, Snow World Züschen, the Sahnehang winter sports park, Bödefeld Hunau and the Ruhrquelle ski area.
Night skiing Willingen
Night skiing is not only available in the Alps. Fans of night skiing will also find a true Eldorado in the German low mountain ranges: one of the largest night ski areas in Germany awaits night owls in the Willingen ski area in the Sauerland: almost 6 km of piste are floodlit for guests here twice a week after sunset. The longest of these is around 1.5 kilometres long. A total of six lifts are available for night skiing. The operating hours are extended every Wednesday and Friday from 18:30 - 21:45 for nocturnal skiing fans. Floodlit tobogganing is also an option - on the village meadow next to the Ettelsberg gondola lift, adrenaline junkies young and old can chase down the pistes on their sledges until late in the evening.Après ski Willingen
On the other hand, things are a little quieter in the numerous restaurants, where you can end the day in a cosy atmosphere. Perhaps you could treat yourself to a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride or a snowshoe hiking tour through the snow-covered hilly landscape beforehand. Another option to round off the programme are the numerous sports options on site, such as swimming, karting or climbing. On a clear day, the Hochheidenturm tower on the Ettelsberg is a must. At 875 metres, it is the highest vantage point in north-west Germany and offers a magnificent view of the Sauerland!
The Mühlenkopfschanze, the largest large ski jump in the world, is also open to visitors, so you shouldn't miss it. There are also interesting museums in Willingen: the interactive "Milchmuhseum" for example or the "Curioseum", a collection of curiosities including model ships, microcars, old tractors, old winter sports equipment and vintage cars.
