Cross-country Rio di Pusteria

There are around 30 kilometres of cross-country trails in the Jochtal-Gitschberg, which lead through the valley floor near Vals, but also across the sunny high plateau of Meransen. The cross-country trails are suitable for all ability levels and there are cosy places to stop for refreshments at convenient points. A medium-difficulty circular trail starts directly at the Jochtal valley station in Vals. The cross-country trail is located at an altitude of 1,350 metres with a reliability of snow and offers around 7 km of cross-country skiing fun.

On the Gitschberg, the Altfaßtal cross-country trail at 1,556 metres above sea level offers a magnificent view. At around 8 km, it offers pure cross-country skiing fun for beginners and advanced skiers alike. In the ski area, an easy cross-country trail also leads along the Lobenweg to the Bacherhütte, where you can take a well-earned break. To the east of Mühlbach is the Rodenecker-Lüsner-Almloipe. It is double-tracked and groomed for skating-style skiing over a length of 15 kilometres.
