Tauplitz

Tauplitz in the Styrian Salzkammergut lies at an altitude of 896 metres and has around 1,000 inhabitants. The valley is dominated by the imposing Grimming mountain, which rises to 2,351 metres, and is particularly attractive for winter sports enthusiasts. People have been skiing here on the Tauplitzalm for over 100 years, and the Austrian Ski Championships were held here as early as 1911. The Tauplitzalm village, located at 1,600 metres, is a charming car-free ski resort with hotels, cosy restaurants and traditional huts. Visitors can access the slopes or cross-country trails directly from all accommodations.

The region also impresses with its unique landscape. Six clear mountain lakes invite you to explore, while the Kulm, the world's largest natural ski jump, is a sporting highlight and has hosted the Ski Flying World Championships several times. Tauplitz combines historic skiing, nature experiences and a wide range of leisure activities to create an incomparable holiday destination.

Styrian Salzkammergut

The Styrian Salzkammergut - comprising the Ausseerland and Hinterberg Valley - is a region with upholds lots of charm and tradition. Folk music, dance and costume play a large role here. Many resorts in this area can still proudly present hand-made crafts, such as textile printing, custom tailoring, leather trouser crafting and hat crafting. The beautiful and diverse landscape with various valleys, the Traun river bed, many lakes and mountain peaks - such as the dominant Dachstein massif and the Totes Gebirge (dead mountains) - make this a unique place to visit.
