Ski area Silberberg
Those looking for more diversity, should try the ski area "Großer Arber" (lift pass purchasable locally), which is easily to be reached with the ski bus. It offers approx. 10 km of runs covering all levels of difficulties and there is even a world cup run! With some considerate investments have been made in the modernisation of the lift and the snow making systems, which now results in good snow conditions right up into spring. Snowboarders can run riot in the Family-Cross-Park with boxes, jumps, curves and waves. The little ones can try themselves out in the "Arbär Kinderland" with conveyors, a ski carousel and flat practice area. In the evenings you can enjoy a special activity by skiing under flood lights.
Après ski Bodenmais
However, away from the pistes there is also a diverse selection of winter hiking trails which lead you through the picturesque winter landscape. Also very popular with both young and old is snowshoe hiking, which is offered by the local ski school, taking you on a guided tour over the mountain plateau. Toboggan fans will also find what they are looking for, e.g. on the approx. 1 km long run in the Arber area. The new Bodenmais Waldrodelbahn/Hochzell toboggan run offers a selection: either choose the 2.9 km steeper run with 11% descent, or take the 3.1 km long family route.
If the weather is not playing along so well, there is an indoor pool and skittles alley in the closer area, or in the ice stadium in Regen.
