Ski area Tegelberg winter sports arena
The 1,881-metre-high Tegelberg and the Tegelberg winter sports arena with around three kilometres of piste are just a ten-minute drive from the centre of Füssen. The area is ideal for families, as the lower piste area with four t-bar lifts and easy slopes is designed for beginners. But those who want more will also get their money's worth here. A gondola takes you up to the mountain station at 1,720 metres. The Tegelberghaus is not only a nice place to stop for refreshments, but also the former hunting lodge of Maximilian II. From up here, the 4.3 km long, tree-lined red main descent leads 900 metres in altitude back to the valley station. Another red and several blue pistes then branch off at the t-bar lifts. This area can also be skied in the evening thanks to floodlights and freestylers will even find a small fun park.
A speciality at Tegelberg is the service for ski tourers. There are special ski touring evenings for them, on which the huts in the ski area are open longer and the snow groomers don't leave until later. This means that nothing stands in the way of an ascent at the edge of the piste followed by a cosy stop and descent by headlamp.
Those who want to explore more pistes will find a wide selection in the "Vitales Land" lift network. The network includes several ski areas with a total of 159 kilometres of piste.

There is no shortage of après ski options in Füssen. Although classic-style umbrella bar parties at the lifts are rather rare, the activity programme on the mountain and in the valley as well as the lively nightlife in the town itself ensure that there is never a dull moment. Those interested in culture will find numerous outstanding sights in the surrounding area: the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle, the Marienbrücke bridge with a direct view of the castle and the natural spectacle of the Lech Falls.
As Füssen is considered the cradle of German ice hockey, ice skating, figure skating, Bavarian curling and, of course, ice hockey are among the must-do leisure activities. Ice sports fans will love Füssen, whether it's icy fun on the frozen lakes in the area or concentrated curling at the German curling centre. There are of course also numerous opportunities for winter hiking and tobogganing on the nearby Tegelberg and around the lakes. For example, take a hike to the Bleckenau hut, which was once King Ludwig's hunting lodge, and from there you can go tobogganing down a groomed track along the Bleckenau road. A horse-drawn sleigh ride with views of the snow-covered Neuschwanstein Castle is particularly romantic.
For your physical well-being, there are numerous restaurants offering the whole repertoire of regional and international Kitchen. The evening can turn into a long night of partying in various bars and the "Big Apple" club.
