Ski area Am Hainberg - Olbernhau

After skiing, Olbernhau is a cosy place to be. The Hainberg with its attractive vantage points is the ideal afternoon excursion destination. From the Frankenwarte lift station, head straight into the forest on the "Rübenauer Weg", where you can enjoy a magnificent view over the valley. The winter hiking trail "Rund um den Kamm" (around the ridge) leads through the Erzgebirge countryside for almost 9.5 kilometres not far from the ski lift. Below the ski slope, you can also enjoy wonderful tobogganing, as the Skiclub Olbernhau e. V. ensures that the paths here are properly groomed. In general, the gentle hills around the village invite you to enjoy extensive tobogganing fun. There are toboggan slopes in the surrounding area, for example in the Bärenbachtal valley, in the Poppsches Gut residential area or in the Rothenthal district.

In the evening, you can enjoy a round at the "Via Roma" bowling alley and then savour a pizza in the adjoining restaurant. The other guesthouses and hotel restaurants also offer regional and international delicacies to suit every palate. The local swimming pool also has a sauna area with a Finnish and bio sauna. If you still want to party later in the evening, there is even a proper discotheque in the town, the "Halle Olbernhau", which offers live DJs and a wide variety of music genres.
