Ski area Oberfrauenwald

With around 2 km of descents, the Oberfrauenwald ski area offers the perfect playground for families, children and beginners. The main run is 1.4 km long, nice and wide and lined with conifers. The valley station of the t-bar lift is at an altitude of 650 m, the mountain station at 948 m, so there are still 300 metres of altitude difference to overcome on the blue descent. Not far from the mountain station, there is also a 27-metre-high observation tower, which offers a fantastic panoramic view of the snow-covered forests. There is a baby lift for the little ones and a practice lift for the slightly older children. A fun park has also been built in the upper, somewhat steeper section of the piste. Snowboarders and, increasingly, skiers are indulging their passion on the two lines in the nature park. Even tobogganing fun is not neglected in Oberfrauenwald. A toboggan hire service on site provides the right equipment and off you go: the 300-metre-long run on the Dickenbüchl lifts is perfect for adults and children alike.

Après ski Oberfrauenwald

The après ski in Waldkirchen is centred on the nature and sports experience. For example, the Karoli ice rink (60 x 30 metres) and the Erlauzwiesel reservoir offer opportunities for ice skating and Bavarian curling, and there are some fairly extensive hiking trails through the forests and hills around the village. For tobogganing fun, it's best to head to the Dickenbüchl lift in Oberfrauenwald right after skiing. For bad weather and all water-lovers, the Karoli water park offers a welcome change from a day of winter sports. Here you can relax in the sauna or with massages. Waldkirchen also has a tennis and squash hall, horse-drawn carriage rides and sociable bowling evenings on offer - the possibilities are truly varied.

For those who prefer to look around the town after skiing, there is not only a beautiful historic town centre, but also nice cafés for afternoon refreshments and an exceptional shopping opportunity at Modehaus Garhammer. If you are interested in culture, you should garnish your stroll through the town with a visit to the "Goldener Steig" museum.

For dinner, you can enjoy a traditional meal in the good parlours. The fusion of Bavarian, Bohemian and Austrian cuisine is typical of the regional cuisine in the border triangle. A nightcap in a cosy pub and a stroll through the historic alleyways round off the evening in Waldkirchen.

Snowpark Oberfrauenwald: Snowpark

The Oberfrauenwald snowpark is located in the upper part of the main descent and can be reached via the t-bar lift. There are two lines that run between the trees and are equipped with several deep bumps. In terms of difficulty, they are more like a boardercross course or a funslope, which has the advantage that even beginners will have fun here. As they are not too demanding, fun park beginners in particular can practise on the snow obstacles. Daredevils can gain momentum and make small jumps, especially on the steeper route. The park measures 400 metres in total, with one of the two routes featuring a kicker. As all the obstacles and bumps are made of snow, the parcour course is considered a natural park.
