Beginners in the Nordic skiing discipline will especially benefit from a relatively manageable network of trails. Some popular tracks, worth visiting, are for instance the 6 km long high-altitude track in Saas-Fee or the 26 km long, partly very tight, Saas Valley trail which leads from Balen via Almagell right up to Evenalp - all these are ideal to get to know the area and cross-country skiing. The trails can also be explored in various stages as there are sufficient bus stops along the way. The Saas Valley has a total of 32 kilometres of trails - classic and skating.
