Ski area Spitzenberg/Köpfle

In Bernau, you can choose between two ski areas with a total of twelve kilometres of piste and six lifts: the Spitzenberg/Köpfle in the Bernau-Innerlehen district and the Hofeck ski area in the accommodation district. On the Spitzenberg/Köpfle, four t-bar lifts provide access to the pistes, which are marked red on the Köpfle and blue on the Spitzenberg. Young skiers can also try their first turns here in a children's area with a magic carpet. Under floodlights, skiing fun can even be extended into the evening hours on approx. two kilometres of piste.

The Hofeck ski area is located a little further north, not far from the Bernau cross-country ski centre. There are two t-bar lifts here, which provide access to blue, red and even black descents. Both ski areas can be artificially snowed, are manageable and therefore an ideal playground for pleasure skiers and families with children.

Après ski Spitzenberg/Köpfle

In addition to skiing, Bernau offers many other opportunities to experience the unique nature and culture of the Black Forest. There are a total of 40 km of winter hiking trails through the high valley, including nine shorter routes of 2 to 6 km in length, which are particularly suitable for families with children. Those who are a little fitter can also set off on one of the two snowshoe trails, which are 3 and 7.5 kilometres long. If the winter trails have been rolled, they are also easily accessible on foot. A snowshoe tour also takes you up the Herzogenhorn. You can then stop off at the Krunkelbachhütte at an altitude of 1,300 metres. You can also get to the hut in comfort with the Pistenbully taxi. If you don't want to walk back either, you can take the 3.5 km toboggan run down into the valley - one of the longest toboggan runs in the Black Forest. At the cross-country ski centre in Bernau-Oberlehen, there is also a snow tubing facility with three 250 m long tracks for young and old.

When your cheeks are red and your feet are tired, Bernau is the place to be for a cosy evening. A dozen restaurants, guesthouses and cafés will spoil you with the finest regional Kitchen. There are even four nature park innkeepers among the hosts, who use exquisite products from the Southern Black Forest Nature Park in their kitchens to support local agriculture.
