The Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains, with the famous Eiger North Face, are the hallmark of the Jungfrau Region. Located in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, the area stretches from Interlaken to the peaks of the Jungfrau massif. An impressive mountain panorama and crystal-clear lakes attract thousands of tourists to the famous holiday resorts every year.
The region is home to several treasures, such as the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn, with the longest ice stream in the Alps (22 km), which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Equally famous is probably the Piz Gloria restaurant on the Schilthorn (2,970 m), which served as the backdrop for the James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The Top of Europe is the highest railway station in Europe, located at an altitude of 3,454 m. The Jungfrau Region is considered an Eldorado, especially for winter sports fans.
